Press Release: Mad River Valley Emergency Response Team: Food Drive

3/27/20

The MRV Emergency Response Team is taking steps to strengthen our readiness response in an effort to be prepared to help our neighbors, especially those most vulnerable, quarantined, or in isolation during this time.   We have organized additional collection sites for donations of non-perishable food items, personal and household cleaning supplies, and pet food.  We are communicating and working alongside Meals On Wheels, Food Shelves, and the Senior Center. We are asking you to please consider buying extra items while you are shopping to donate for this emergency response.

To make it easier to drop off items, 4 new collection sites have been set up in our community at the Moretown General Store, Shaws in Waitsfield, the East Warren Market and Paradise Provisions in Warren. Drop-offs will only be accepted when stores are open, please do not leave any items after hours.  Safety protocol will be taken when collecting food from drop-off sites and ensuring it is cleaned before going out to households and individuals in need.

As we have seen so many times in the past, the Valley community comes together so generously to support each other when facing adversity. We will all get through this together.

Be well and MRV strong.

The Mad River Valley Emergency Response Management Team and volunteer coordinators are

in continual contact with, and reports to, the selectboards and towns of Waitsfield, Fayston,

Moretown, Warren.
